For as long as there have been motorcycles, there have been people customizing them. That is part of the allure of the
iron horse. Once you get your set of wheels, you can make them your own. The bike is more than just a machine. It’s a form
of self-expression. Some even go so far as to say an extension of themselves. We like to think that we help make that expression come alive. Highland Motorworks is a family owned and operated business for bikers by bikers. We have over 46 collective years in the graphics industry, and when we decided to turn our talents to our greatest passion (motorcycles), Highland Motorworks was born. |

The most common question we get asked is, "Is this a sticker?" The answer is, "No".
A sticker is a printed piece of paper with glue on the back. Digital Paint is a combination of many factors. It starts with a quality PPG automotive paint for our base coat. The customer's high-res graphics are then printed at a museum quality DPI on 2 mil. 3M cast vinyl with pressure sensitive adhesive that incorporates V2 technology. A 2 mil. over laminate is then applied. Next, the graphics package is applied to the tins, with airbrushing where needed. Finally, 7 layers of clearcoat are applied to give our product a really deep gloss. The combined power of both the heavy clearcoat and the over laminate gives Digital Paint a 10+ year protection
in outdoor conditions. As for what can be done with Digital Paint, the answer is simply, "Anything." Photographs, Drawings, Tattoos, Paintings, your name it. If it can be photographed or scanned, then we can incorporate it into a digital paint scheme. In some cases, not even that is necessary. We have thousands of stock backgrounds and images to draw from. When it comes to digital paint, the only limitation is the imagination. Another nice feature of Digital Paint is that all our jobs are stored on file. Should your Digital Paint job ever be scratched, dented, or otherwise damaged, we can reproduce the original design. No more "Almost like it was" repairs. We recreate the EXACT image or graphic that was on your bike prior to the accident. This technology allows us to duplicate a design as many times as needed. Should you ever get a new bike, and want the same Digital Paint job that was on you old bike... No problem. |
